Overview & Initial Research
This is an app for Saatchi Art’s The Other Art Fair. Their current app needs some feature and layout updates and I also included a new Virtual VR art show experience and the ability to bid on work.
The problem: In our post-covid world, art collectors want a way to experience art shows remotely.
The goal: Increase show discoverability on TOAF app and include VR art show feature for remote attendance.
I conducted both primary and secondary research in the form of user interviews and a competitive audit.
My user pool was very niche and included those interested and/or working in the art world. I found that many users were looking for a way to experience and purchase art remotely.
Wireframes & Usability Studies
I developed both paper and lo-fi prototypes which I used to conduct 2 rounds of usability studies with a pool of 5 people.
Some major findings included:
Users want to collect art into a profile
Users need extra instruction on VR
Users need to feel a sense of community around the shows
Hi-fi prototyping, Branding, & UI Design
After collecting feedback, I iterated on the hi-fi prototype and added visual elements to make the VR art show screen more engaging and accessible.

Conclusion
Impact: This app really gave the wow factor to artists and made the overall app more engaging
What I learned: I learned the power of hi-fi prototypes in pitching ideas that are not commonplace. I also learned how clear you need to be when introducing new tech to users.
